Disaster

Hi I’m vaultboy and I’m a singer-songwriter from Jacksonville, FL. I’ve been releasing music for almost 1 year now and put out my debut EP at the start of 2022. The reaction to my music has been insane and I’m stoked at how well it’s been received. My debut release ‘everything sucks’ had a huge viral moment which helped it spread globally, hitting the #1 spot on the viral charts on Spotify and staying there for several weeks. It even became a western music chart #1 on a major Chinese streaming platform. This is my genesis NFT and I’m stoked to be doing it on Sound. I’ve been following the platform and the community for a while now and there’s clearly a lot of awesome trailblazers leading the way in this new Web 3.0 space here. And so so many dope artists that I’m a big fan of who have dropped releases on Sound so I know I’m in good company. I’m a pretty emotional guy and that seeps into my music and lyrics. ‘Disaster’ is no exception to that. I wrote this song as a part of a songwriting challenge where I try to start and finish a song in 77 minutes. This was the first song of the challenge and I have been surprised to see how much people relate to it! Disaster is about the type of person it hurts to love. Someone who’s problems are often self-inflicted and ends up hurting the people around them: even the people that love them the most. I’m really proud of it, especially as I wrote and produced the song by myself in my home studio. I really hope it resonates with you in someway!
