"Death Valley" began to take shape even before I'd ever been there. From LA, it was just a drive away. Feeling a need to truly experience the place to finish the song, I ventured there solo on Christmas Day 2020, amidst the backdrop of the pandemic. The desert, the salt flats, the towering mountains – and notably, the profound silence I encountered on certain trails – deeply influenced the song's completion. At its core, "Death Valley" is a reflection on self-reliance, a reminder about showing up for oneself and recognizing that we often have all we need within. It's about navigating life's vast expanses, much like the contrasting terrains of Death Valley, and finding inspiration and strength in solitude. Following its 2021 release, I received messages from listeners who shared that the song perfectly echoed their own Death Valley adventures, capturing the essence of their experiences. It's always a heartening feeling when your creation resonates in such a personal way with others. Now, in 2023, I'm excited to re-introduce "Death Valley" in a fresh format – as my first NFT song release.
