Visayas FM is a 40 min mix featuring the auditory world I've crafted over the years. A multi-genre endeavor, this mix tells the story of my development to merge my art and culture in a unique way. It provides an auditory frame work for thing that I'm really passionate about alongside music- The preservation of Visayan heritage and practices. Our mother tongue(s), our dances, our herbal medicine, our recipes, our stories, our culture. This mix is a part of the Visayas Collection and is an exclusive sneak peak of some of the music that will be featured in the full length LP. Visayas FM took me deep on a journey to create and gather my best work in preperation for the final LP, which will be a more focused and curated version of this alongside complete visual components. It reflects my taste in the contemporary electronic music landscape and the deep curiosity I have to develop art reflective on concepts unique to Visayan culture- all while maintaining my own sonic identity. All these pieces whether full songs, instrumentals or ambient sound sketches tell stories- messages passed to me from beyond the veil. Featuring my mother tongue Waray alongside other languages used across the Visayas, my aim was to create a conceptual project devoted to these islands and to honor the efforts of the warriors, healers, artists, and ancestors contributed to be able to carry forward with our history. I hope you enjoy Visayas FM! I'm committed to providing unique sounds inspired by these islands, our culture, our communities and the imagination from beyond. My vision for this collectible is to be able to raise funds to build a full performance visual to compliment the mix and LP launch. It will help bootstrap for a variety of tasks: - field work to collect more audio visual components for the LP/exhibit - an immersive 360 projector room to shoot the performance - a set designer and florist to develop unique and cutting edge space beyond the digital elements - A small film crew consisting of a producer, camera ops - Promote the full LP The final visual component will be minted via Zora and also be used to raise funds for the completion of the LP.
