to celebrate my new position at sound.xyz as the head of artist relations, i thought it was only right to kick in the door with a new sound drop! i am so honored to be a part of this ever-evolving company. i am excited to help artists, discover artists, all while continuing to be an artist. i believe that with my experience in web2 paired with my community in web3, i will contribute to pushing this platform towards success. let the games begin! "commitment" is my first love song on the blockchain. i wrote it as a mockery of the way our generation thinks of love and commitment, and the fear that comes with it. we could like someone so much, feel for them so deeply, but because of our past heartaches, deny ourselves of commitment and companionship. it's an ongoing cycle that i keep seeing, and i wrote this song in hopes to bring attention to how crazy we sound when we think like this! this soul/r&b/afrobeat fusion was produced by my lifetime friend and day-one producer, BeatsByChe. che and i go back since college. he's actually the producer i first began making music with. it's been beautiful to grow through seasons with him in the music world of web2 and now introduce him to the world of web3. i send my deepest condolences to che, who lost his father a few days ago. i chose to release this NFT today in honor of his father, Mr. Tutt, who groomed che to be the talented and supportive friend he is today. proceeds from this NFT collection will go towards his arrangements and family expenses. when i say community, this is what it looks like. when i say support, this is what i mean. i'm grateful to be able to contribute in this way. background vocals were sang my sis geminelle (who i need to get into web3 too), artwork was done by my guy ls doom, and engineering by che and my super talented cousin, taylor alford. a lot of love touched this track. i hope you can feel it. special thank you to all of my backers! i have endless love for you. i hope you can feel it. with peace, iman europe
