Gnoia and I met online in the Beat Academy community founded by Grammy-nominated producer ill Factor. Gnoia is based in LA and I'm based in Lithuania, and in spite of the distance and 10-hour time difference, we took the chance and used the power of the internet to create music together. In 2020 Gnoia released her EP "Departure," where the first version of "Psyche" was heard. I instantly felt attracted by its message. I realized that this song could be uplifted with a bit different type of musical instrumentation, as well as a re-arrangement of the lyrics. At first, I was aiming to make a remix, but then we both realized this song asked for much more. We kept searching for the right balance. Finally, the up-and-coming lyricist and MC Atomic the Don, whose raps you can hear in the second verse, added a new dimension to the entire concept of this beautiful, cautious, and modern song.
