"Parasite" tells the story of a toxic partnership Emily had with a producer she used to work with. She alludes to how he manipulated and gaslit her for two years, but has now embraced the attitude that if he ever tries to fuck with her again, she’ll do whatever she has to do to get rid him from her life. He sucked the joy and vitality she had for her career and life and replaced it with fear and anxiety. He was a narcissist and a parasite. Emily brought the initial idea to rehearsal one day (then called "Criminal") that had a riff and a vibe to it. Over the course of 6 months, it became known as "Parasite" and morphed into what it is now a genre-bending journey of ambient melodies, hard rock, and soul. "Parasite" has become one of our favorite songs to perform live, by far.
