One Take is a fun and energetic record that comes from a childlike place of creativity. It's a celebration of the power of music to make us smile, dance, and forget about our troubles. The song was inspired by the idea of freestyle recording, where artists go into the booth and let the vibes flow without overthinking. I was inspired by the way that Michael Jackson and Kanye would go into the booth and just let the music carry them. They would feel the beat and freestyle a few takes to get the idea down, and then come back to fill it in later. I loved this idea because it would allow me to get the melodies & cadences in my head out before they got bogged down by overthinking. I wanted to capture the raw energy of that experience, so I recorded the entire song in one take and what was meant to be a scratch take ended up becoming the song! The result is a track that is both catchy and authentic. It's a reminder that sometimes the best way to make music is to simply have fun and let it flow.
