If you're brave enough to undertake the harrowing journey to the fabled Isle of Myssos... And you venture out into a fearsome thunderstorm... And you're lucky enough to see the full moon peek out behind the stormclouds... Then you might catch a glimpse of the mythical Moonflower, which blooms a brilliant orange when the moonlight refracts through the myriad raindrops and combines with the elemental power of the ley lines that cross through the Isle. This is my debut cinematic jazz-folk track, featuring me playing the following instruments: - Saxophone - Irish wood flute - Piano - Cittern - Guitar - Violin My musical influences range from Miyazaki film scores and Lord of the Rings to folk, jazz, and Japanese hip-hop. I'm tagging this as electronic because "cinematic jazz-folk" wasn't one of the options, not surprisingly. There are no synths in this track, but it's downtempo and a bit hip-hop inspired. It's been a long, arduous journey leading up to this moment. I've been producing music quietly for almost 20 years, but didn't have the courage to share it with the world, and struggled to find my unique style and musical voice. I've finally found that courage, and that voice, and so a new journey begins. This is the first of many tracks to come, featuring a variety of acoustic instruments played by me, cinematic melodies, wide soundscapes, and deep beats, all leading up to music that's designed to take you on an adventure.
