I wanted the song to have different things throughout. What I mean by that is; the verses are the scene-how it’s set/what’s happening in ‘real life’. While the pre-chorus is my inner monologue talking while this is happening. The chorus is the breaking point of emotions that are thoughts out loud to the person. I didn’t want to just paint a picture, I wanted to tell a story. I think in music that’s extremely important. I only write for my artist project from a place of authenticity and experience. We’ve all shared similar experiences in life, and music is a way to bring people together in a way of relation when we can’t/don’t talk about it openly. I only want to have music people can relate to-even if it’s simplistic lyrics like this song. I know we can all name a time we were cold as ice towards a person after experiencing an upsetting event. Maybe not ‘Cold Like Gemini’ but truly I said Gemini in the song because that’s my zodiac sign and I wanted to represent that part of myself.
