In this age of digital and AI everything, I appreciate musicianship, instruments, real people and real things more than ever. I’m excited to bring a live performance recording to sound! Tiny Desk: a dream for most musicians. What song of mine could I adapt for the contest this year? I quickly realized that I should write one from scratch; here was my chance to write from my guitar again for the first time in a LONG time! AND with only a few days left before the deadline, I could make it a masochistic, self-competitive motivational thing too — nice. So, “Reach” miraculously came about in three to four days. It will certainly be more widely released in the future, but for now, the Tiny Desk song version of this track will live exclusively on sound.
