Allow me to take you on the journey of "Cabin in the Woods" - a song that was born out of pure longing & love. Two years ago, during one of our countless Zoom meetings, my long-distance boyfriend, Satwik (whom most of you know as this incredibly talented and charming artist, songwriter, and producer), started humming this hauntingly striking melody. It was then and there, right in front of my shameless tearful eyes that "Cabin in the Woods" was coming to life. It was coming strong, almost as if it was making a statement that it was here to take over our lives. It did. And damn, was it beautiful. Fast-forwarding a couple of months later, the song was all finished and wrapped up in a giant bow spelling "ready for release". But I was the voice on it, not him. After completing the songwriting process, Satwik unequivocally decided that "Cabin in the Woods" belongs to me, and that it has my name written all over it. So now, here we are. After 2 long years of sitting on the Spotify shelves, that bow still spells the same words. The only difference is the 2 words added at the end of it: "in Web3". Who would've even imagined? "Cabin in the Woods" has become an extension of myself, being the song I always start our live concerts with. In a way, long before it even reaches hundreds of thousands of streams, fame, and all the weird twisted good & bad that comes on the side, it already became a legend.
