This is the second song I ever recorded on something other than my phone. I wrote this song at a time in my life when I was struggling with my mental health and addiction after losing one of my best friends to a heroin overdose. I felt I played a part in his death by the example I set for him. That was one of the worst feelings I have ever experienced. When I was finally able to sit down and process everything, some months after his funeral, “Pain Song” is what I came up with.
