Over the last few years I’ve found myself emotionally drifting away from the style of music I had been releasing. When I was 16 I started releasing music that was heavily leaning into the Future Bass genre. I had started accumulating millions of streams across different platforms and felt pretty comfortable in that lane of music. When I was 19 I moved to Los Angeles, and that's where I was introduced to the House music scene. Over the next year I came to love the genre, and started making it myself. I wasn’t a “house producer” though so I kinda kept my creations to myself, and stuck to releasing the genre I was most comfortable with. This ultimately led to me falling out of love with music. At the end of 2022 I decided It was time for me to finally release the kind of music I truly loved, and that decision sparked the fire I had thought was gone. Over the past few months I’ve been on a creative spree making House music, and falling in love with the creative process all over again. The idea for “Rolling” came about when I found the vocal. I instantly heard this little groove in my head and got to work. My goal with this song was to make something that just felt good, something you can put on while you’re jogging, dancing around the living room, or in the club. I made a few different versions of this track, but ended up scrapping the earlier versions because I felt like they were a bit too complicated. I ultimately realized that by stripping back some sounds and really letting the groove have space to breathe made the song much more light and danceable. Sometimes less is more, and this song is a perfect example of that.
