A song I wrote when I was a kid. This one probably '74. Another song from the '77 sessions at John Stewarts Studio. in Edington, ME, out on Rt. 9 heading east out of Bangor. "The Silverbird Sessions" . . . John ran the board. It was an 8 track setup. Bob Elie on drums with his Bass player friend from Lewiston who I still can't remember. Harry King on keys. Mark 'Guitar' Miller played electric guitars and myself on Acoustic and Vocals . . . Once again, Mark wasn't there for the beds. Elie set up the middle break with the cool with that cool like jazzy vibe. That was not in my head at all when we sat down to track. John had a hollow body Gibson I think that Mark used for the body of the song as well as the middle break. Then he plugged in his Stratocaster for the jam on the outro. That was a lot of fun putting down . . This is the only mix from the project that I've been able to live with. Everything worked on this one and I included it as a hidden track on my CD "Standin Man." Once again a solid track and it's a great relief to get it out there after 47 years. It couldn't be better, frankly. It was done and performed organically, with real emotion and purpose and was written by a kid in love with a beautiful woman . .
