Velvet Meadow kicks off the new year with the new single "Slow Down" released Jan 12th 2024. Wanting to bring a new take on the groovy 60s psychedelic surf pop sound, Kris Heironimus dove deeply into crazy guitar tones, uncommercial production techniques, and as well listening to his favorite classic/new artists for inspiration such as The Beatles, Beach Boys, Babe Rainbow, and King Gizzard and the Wizard Lizard. This track was really his first recorded song kicking off the new upcoming album "Never Want To Leave My Head". About the track: Slow Down was written one spring morning when I woke up humming the rhythm. I knew it had to be a new song. I sat down, picked up my janky Rickenbacker, and got to writing. I spent the whole day writing this one, another track called "I Don't Like Money Anyways", and a unreleased demo called "It Must Be Nice". I finally got it out there Jan of 2024. All mints go toward supporting the project and its ambitions! <3
