Velvet Meadow is a psychedelic pop/rock project based in Jacksonville/St Augustine Fl. Founded by psych-head Kris Heironimus, Heironimus strives to create a palette of creative weird sound scapes interwoven within pop melodies. With huge inspiration from many classic psychedelia artists, Mr. Velvet captures a modern, and authentic take on progressive rock with his psych anthem "I See Blue". After "I See Blue" garnered more than 400K views on Youtube in the span of 2 months, and still trending upwards within the algorithm. It has solidified his presence within the psych rock community, and brought him a deal with independent record label"SIC RECORDS". About the track from Heironimus. "I See Blue was a huge leap for me. I was always obsessed with writing and producing at a very young age. At the time, I was in my old band Luna Cruise, and I was super insecure about my music. I wrote this track on a summer Sunday morning at my gfs parents house. I didn't even have studio monitors. I bummed her folks old 1970s technic speakers and receiver. Plugged it into my crappy laptop with Garageband loaded up with my Stratocaster handy. I remember wanting to challenge myself. I wanted to find a crazy guitar tone to use. I spent about 2 hours just playing with various effects until I came across a nasty drive plugin, and a filter. Once I hit that first power chord I already had the song planned out internally. I was beyond excited for this track. It really was the first song Ive written where I wasn't cringing at myself. This track really was the reason I started the Velvet Meadow project. The production and mixing was all done by myself, because I believe half of a songs sound and feel is within the producing. After releasing it with a music video on Youtube, it sat at around 500 views for three years. Then sometime in October of 2023 it blew up and went viral in the span of 2/3 months. I still cant believe it has over 400k views. I am very fortunate to have the fans and the community built around Velvet Meadow. I want to somehow give back within the NFT world.
