Freak Like Me is a Frankenstein of sorts. I wanted to make a song that blended all the nostalgic sonic aesthetics that I crave. Britney's Blackout album and Marilyn Manson's "Beautiful People" were just two of the references. Lyrically I always put so much of my personal struggle into my songs and this record was definitely about letting go a little bit and just expressing myself.
