This work is themed around the tears shed by Ra, the sun god from ancient Egyptian mythology, symbolizing the circle of life. Ra, the creator of heaven and earth, the universe, Believed to be the "Light born out of darkness" and the "Embodiment of the sun," he travels eternity through cycles of life and death, where death is accepted as the beginning of a new journey. It is recorded on papyrus that from the tears shed by the sun god Ra, bees were born, and honey brought blessings into people's lives. Thus, the dress features bees, while the accessories represent the tears shed by Ra. ---- I was inspired to create this song by a wonderful artist named Karen. I, too, have decided to journey with my own work alongside hers. I am proud to start together in the year 2024, a year of destruction and creation. Karen X : @karen_design_ ---- <The Story Behind This Work> Two years ago, during a summer when Karen was 11 years old, she was struggling with depression and felt desperate. It was the encouragement from a now-deceased benefactor, who was fighting his own battle with illness while shining with the will to create the era of web3, that allowed her to take the first step into this world. He had been living for several years since his terminal diagnosis and shared with her that "There must be a reason you're still alive, and when you find your role in the next world, it will be time to depart," along with the baton he passed to her. Just as bees carry pollen from flower to flower, connecting the life of the natural world, the will of her deceased benefactor to create a new world continues to breathe and grow within Karen even after his departure.
