I’d seen the video of Zzz. singing ‘U & I’ next to a grand piano the night before so when I woke up the next day I was super inspired to write a hook. I got up early enough that it was still really foggy. The view from my apartment looks down into the Bunnings carpark and all I could see was this strangely pretty pair of red lights. I couldn’t tell which model the car was but they kind of looked like monster eyes - and that’s where I got the idea for the hook. I spent the next week dedicating an unhealthy amount of time getting this song to where I needed it to be. All balance was thrown out the window. I was listening to a lot of Central Cee in the weeks prior to that as well, so I had to insert a verse that was reminiscent of UK drill.
