One day I was I was going through some beats that one of my producers, Palyze had sent me to do a free write too and I stumbled on this beat that reminded me of that Christmas song from the Charlie Brown cartoon. I thought it was cool, so I started writing to it and as I got halfway through the first verse, I was like damn why is this depressing lol. So, I decided to sleep on it and the next day I remembered that there was an artist grant that I was going to submit a song for due soon. I still had to pick a song so the first one that immediately came to mind was the one I was just writing the night before. I realized it went well with the theme of the prompt which was how we as artists can lean into our own reality and live life to the fullest. After that clicked in my head, I went back to writing the song and finished it. I hit my guy Tim Michuda and Owynn to do some viola and piano and I also hit up my longtime videographer Leo Caserta to help out with the video. We spent from 11 pm to 6 am traveling across NYC to shoot the music video for the song and it came out amazing! Now initially, I was just going to submit the song for the grant and not release it because it's just not my typical style. But something told me that I should release it because someone listening who might be feeling the weight of the world on their shoulders might feel better by hearing the message in this song. But anyway (already) long story short, I went on to win 2nd place for the grant and finally released the song everywhere. With this song I learned that everything happens for a reason and sometimes you got to just go with your gut and cast any second thoughts, you have aside.
