One Last Night Terror 2020 Vision - Hindsight Edition Track 7 I used to be a much more nervous, anxious person. If I went to sleep while under a lot of stress or somewhere unfamiliar there was a not insignificant chance I'd have some very real seeming dream and act it out some even after waking. Usually a "someone is in the room" or "there's snakes everywhere" type dream (I'm not even afraid of snakes). As I got older I learned to stop letting things weigh on me so heavily and I got really good at squashing the fear of failure. Sometimes I wonder what the current me would do if caught in one of those old dreams. My first album, 2020 Vision was made in 2019 and originally released on Jan 1st 2020. It was a terrific experience, learning as I made, experimenting with all kinds of sounds and genres, but building with a full album experience in mind. The 12 tracks of the album rotate through the circle of fifths, with a track for each major key. It's a rather hopeful album I think, and it is interesting to look back on it, knowing just how much it contrasts with the year it entered. There is also a tinge of loneliness to some of the tracks, perhaps some of that underlying anxiety of seeing covid go down elsewhere in the world and wondering what could happen. This Hindsight Edition was an opportunity for me to go into the state of making these tracks, and feel out how my production has changed. One of the weaknesses of the original album was all the mastering was done with no prior experience, I literally had an ozone tutorial up as I did it. Nowadays I have a much better handle on those sorts of things and this Hindsight Edition is a way to get a new, clean modern master out there while still maintaining the original elements of the release. I hope everyone enjoys! This song is based on traveling between my hometown and the city I live in. I love visiting my family but somehow the drive down always dragged on. Heading back was opposite however, something peaceful but still energizing about the return home.
