Hi! We're Forenn, and we make music for memory seekers. 🔆 At the beginning of lockdown 2020, one of us lived in Kenya, another in Houston, and another in Austin. We hadn't played music in the same room together since 2016, and it was immediately impressed upon us that we likely wouldn't be doing so again anytime soon. As we collectively spent some time listening to old demos we had made for our first album and sketches we'd written individually over the years since, we realized that a quiet season was ripe for creating new music As we began writing new music, one thing became clear —we were older, and life was changing for us and the world around us. We started thinking about how those whose lives were passing on due to COVID were forever changing the lives of those they impacted and how memory is the only thing people have left when their loved ones are gone. We began to understand the opportunity we had been given-The opportunity to create a soundtrack of sorts for the memories of the listener's past, their present lives, and the lives to come for those who listen to our music. We realized that art doesn't die-it passes on. "Peace Is Not Escape" is a song that explores the different emotions and realities of life that we face when confronted with death and the world around us. It acknowledges that life is not always easy, and we are sure to experience a range of emotions from pain and anguish to anger and hurt, as well as joy and celebration. Although peace may not always be an escape from life's challenges, it is still a worthy pursuit.
