I wrote this song for someone I love dearly years ago. I always imagined it with strings. Years after I tracked all the vocals and keys, I was able to go into the studio and record a string arrangement I composed for a 24 piece ensemble. Stacked multiple takes of a string quartet to get the sound I wanted. Spent 80 hours studying scores of old string arrangements by Nelson Riddle, Stravinsky, Debussy, and Ravel. I took these patterns of voicing and movement used by those composers/arrangers: and used the same patterns with the melody of this song. Writing that string arrangement and making sure it captured the classic style of orchestrating strings from the early 20th century was my goal. I believe this arrangement accomplished that.
