Wrote this song about a summer romance I had in NYC when I was young. I used to only make instrumental music. This song was one of the first to have lyrics. Did this track at a friend's studio and recorded all the vocals in my bedroom in LA. I love layering vocals!! This song is on my first solo produced album I dropped in 2022 "All I Need". I had been producing for years and this track was the first track I had produced where I truly figured out how I wanted to record my vocals with the BGV's and how I would stack the bgvs. This song was a milestone for me personally because it helped me find the recording/production style I have committed to from then till now. The style of stacking and layering vocals which I use pretty much in all my songs with vocals. Even though stacking vocals like that is very time consuming I love the final product. This track has over 300 vocal tracks. I have always been very inspired by other artists who stack vocals : D'angelo, certain Prince recordings, Curtis Mayfield, Bobby Caldwell, Marvin Gaye, Vulfpeck, Lauryn Hill, etc. I aspire to stack my vocals like the artists that inspire me do.
