"El Matador" is the most captivating and dramatic song on my debut project, Outlaw. It is a stand-out track that was written to rebel against the homogeneity of music made for big playlists. "El Matador" serves as a disruptor among all my other releases. It captures the rough, energetic side of music with several nods and references to Texas. and I began writing the track while out was out one night at a bar. The venue was crowded, I couldn't get a drink or speak to anyone, and I was having a terrible time. We have all had a night we regretted and I realized there were no song specifically for the moment when you're out having a disaster of a night. That's where the passion for "El Matador" came from. The song, that if it started playing while someone was out having a bad night, they would instantly feel understood.
