“Can’t Touch That” is a song is all about the important topic of consent and entitlement, delivered in a catchy manner - Afrobeats (Afro-Pop) with UK grime vibes. “Did you know that consent is key sir?” being one of the phrases repeated in the song. The concept is also applicable to other contexts such as touching natural hair! As places start to open up, so are levels of audacity. Ultimately, imagine a world where women feel safe and free from harassment no matter the time or place. Hopefully this song serves as a much needed reminder! Out of interest, Dr Adaku’s PhD research was primarily on intersectionality, wellbeing, entrepreneurship and the digital economy. Notably, she researched mostly Black entrepreneurs and looked at themes of wellbeing and equality with regards to race, gender, age and class.
