In the throws of a mental and emotional breakdown I found myself wondering - ‘can turn in this into a fruity pop song?’ The process of making this fruity pop song has been part of my healing and got me excited about the emotional alchemy of pop music. I realised that so many of the songs I love subvert a situation through music including my all time favourite pop song; ’Rehab’ by Amy Winehouse. I wrote the lyrics of ‘HEARTBREAK ON ANTIDEPRESSANTS’ on a train after seeing my ex-boyfriend kissing his new boyfriend at the station... I produced the track in the Welsh countryside with Gethin Pearson who has worked with Charli XCX, KennyHoopa and Bloc Party. Then I spent a year leaning how to trampoline for the music video which is based on the question “what if rock bottom is a trampoline?”
