This is a deeply personal song, because it's the first song where I finally found my "sound", after more than 15 years of producing music in the closet. It blends the intimate and the cinematic, mixing folk and jazz with the orchestra and driving beats. It features me playing fingerpicked acoustic guitar, Irish flute, bodhran, saxophone, mandolin, cittern, and hand percussion. It's the first track that I sing on, which I'm not very confident in yet and feels scary, but I love doing it. It also took me months of revisions to complete, and is a big leap in complexity from previous tracks I've made, with about 80 layers of instruments and vocals. The song is about a mythical battle ages ago, with a group of valiant warriors fighting to try to save the sunlight from being swallowed by a malevolent force of darkness.
