Conceived in the UK in the summer of 2015 after a trip to NYC. I was coming out of a low point and the energy of the city—its sounds, heat and pace—inspired me to create an uplifting, industrial track with warm, layered synth pads. By chance, as I was finalising the arrangement and some of the lyrics, I came across a tweet about the song "Winter" by North Elements featuring vocals by AAA+, which I really loved. I reached out for a potential collaboration, and luckily, AAA+ was keen to lend his talents. "Weightless" was finished in that autumn. The track first premiered on BBC Introducing, featured on C-Heads and released on February 9 2016 as part of the two-track "Orbits".
