Wołow is the name of the first town in Poland I ever got to know. It’s the name of a place that, unknowingly, would mark a significant lapse of time in my life. I began writing this song one quiet spring afternoon in the town of Wołow where pink sunsets and tones of ember in the sky that seamlessly merge with the green pastures of the fields. I sat in awe of the colours and stillness of it all, and began picking a pattern in my guitar. I needed to find a sound that would transmit the harshness of the environment, the warmth of the people, even the flavours of the food (which I found out to be extremely delicious). I could have never guessed that I'd find myself somewhere so random that would feel so much like home. Like everything in life, duality is ever present. Coming from the background that I do, I found myself in such a strange, and different place, where nothing made sense, on the other side of the world, yet everything felt so familiar.
