The thought behind this song was how to be honest as an artist about being broke, make it sound good, and display skill all at once. The chorus on the outro was originally going to be the last bar of the first chorus, it was going to be "Buy now, better buy quick. If you don't, then I'm sure you're sure to miss." I just felt it was too technical, which is what led to the little more open, "but I'm not, and I'm still the shit." I feel like this is one of my best-mixed tracks yet, the chorus had some really bright moments. The second verse called for me to use a technique to make a punch-in very obvious, I feel the brighter high-end allows the song to be enhanced by the punch-in. The grainy dub effect on my voice was used to basically make me sound like a radio, while the beat in the background is very bright to create a contrast. The screams at the beginning could've been better but I was having some trouble with my hard drive on the initial drop of the release which led me to rush the drop a bit. The music video that will come with this release will not be posted on Youtube, making it exclusive to you. I filmed the promotion for this song with Bozzy, a local artist and videographer, this winter in about 25-degree weather in front of the Reno Arch. I wish I'd slowed down a bit while it was going on, the whole shoot flew by, but it was a fun experience nonetheless. I hope you enjoy my work! -AddyNap
