Each day millions of living forms begin their cycle while others are finishing it. In the morning, the sun rises and gives life to the plants. The plants photosynthesize, using the sunlight to convert carbon dioxide and water into oxygen and glucose. The oxygen is released into the air, and the glucose is used by the plants for energy. Animals eat the plants, and the energy stored in the glucose is transferred to them, using this energy to grow, reproduce, and move around. When animals and plants die, their bodies are decomposed by microorganisms. These microorganisms break down the dead organic matter into simpler substances, such as carbon dioxide, water, and minerals. These substances are then recycled back into the environment, where they can be used by new plants and animals. This cycle is a miracle of nature.
